Scott has unveiled the latest iteration of its flagship Addict RC climbing bike, tipping the scales at a claimed 300 grams lighter than its predecessor.
No less than 5 years in the making, the new Addict RC was put on a diet via Scott’s PP Mandrel fabrication technique, relying on less resin and fewer carbon layups to create a more fluid molding process, resulting in a gravity-defying frame of just 640 grams in a size medium.
Elsewhere, the Addict RC is treated to two seatpost options, the new SL that’s 10% lighter than the previous model, or the Comfort Seapost that offers 30% more flexion than the SL, while the cockpit comes courtesy of a Syncros IC-R100-SL integrated set-up – complete with a 3D-printed computer holder that weighs a scant 12 grams.
Additionally, all of the bike’s hardware now features a T25 torx for all adjustments.
The Addict RC will be available in five different guises, with the top-tier Ultimate model coming fitted with a SRAM Red AXS groupset and power meter, Syncros Capital SL 40mm deep wheels, Schwalbe Aerothan 28mm tubeless-ready tires, Aerothan inner tubes and a Syncros Belcarra SL saddle for $15,000.
Other build options span Shimano Dura-Ace, Ultegra and 105 Di2 drivetrains with prices ranging from $4,999.99 to $8,999.99.
