Shimano Adds New RC9 PWR to Its Range of Road Shoes

While most premium cycling shoe designs are split between a single or dual BOA retention system, Shimano has decided on a mix of old and new for its latest RC9 PWR road shoe, opting for a single BOA Li2 dial and a velcro toe strap system.

Borrowing heavily from its top-tier S-Phrye RC9 brethren, the RC9 PWR features the same upper and full-carbon sole, but relies on the aforementioned closure set-up.

Why the design choice?

According to Shimano the RC9 PWR is aimed at time trialists, powerful sprinters and track cyclists who are looking for a more secure fit during all-out efforts.

Offered in white only, the RC9 PWR is available in a wide-range of sizes.

Features:

  • Race-tuned closure system with a lavish BOA Li2 metal dial, power boost guide, and toe strap reduce foot movement and enhance power transmission.
  • Race confidently while you let those behind you admire the dazzling color-shifting crystal finish on the outsole and heel.
  • Breathable, stretch-resistant upper keeps feet stably in place to improve power transfer.
  • Heel cup with anti-twist stabilization secures optimal foot positioning for intense acceleration and high tempo cadences.
  • Midsole-wrapping upper blends with the tongue to form a glove-like fit for remarkable pedaling stability.
  • Low stack height midsole stabilizes foot and optimizes power transfer efficiency.
  • Integrated seamless midsole and upper construction set a new level of fit, stability and lightweight performance
  • Sizes: Wide: 40-46 and Standard: 40, 41-46 Half Sizes 47 and 48 Standard
