Shimano has expanded its range of indoor-specific cycling shoes to include two new models, the 1C1 and 1C2, both of which are compatible the brand’s road (SPD-SL) and off-road (SPD) pedals.
While the new IC1 and IC2 are considered entry-level indoor cycling shoes, they feature Shimano’s Dynalast upper that’s designed to minimize strain on the foot and ankle, along with a wrap-around Velcro strap, a full length rubber sole for ease of walking and plenty of ventilation.
“All models in the IC range aim to balance superior breathability and stiffness for indoor conditions,” says Shimano.
For dealing with sweat build-up, Shimano has added quick-drying materials to the new models, making them easier to wash as well.
The IC1 weighs in at a claimed weight of 250g, while the IC2 tips the scales at a slightly heavier 265g.
Both models are available in a range of sizes from 42 to 48 for men, and 36 to 41 for women, which sell for $90 (1C1) and $100 (1C2).
