Shimano is showing-off its latest gravel shoe called the RX8R, expanding upon the brand’s already popular GX8 by adding a sewn-in knit cuff that’s designed to keep debris from entering the upper when traversing the most rugged of terrain.
Relying on the same platform as the RX8, the RX8R also features a synthetic leather upper and built-in heel stabilizer – complete with ink-jet printed graphics.
Additionally, both models are now equipped with newer, low-profile BOA Li2 dials that are treated with a rubber grip, as well as an updated velcro closure.
Elsewhere, the shoes are fitted with new insoles with adjustable arch support that are given a Silvadur silver-treatment in order to keep them fresh.
The RX8R is available in a full range of sizes from 38 to 48, with half-sizes in 41-46 for $300.
Regarding color, the RX8R is only offered in a metallic orange colorway.
