Showers Pass has introduced two new Hi-Vis cycling jackets called the Torch and Elite, calling them “unlike other reflective jackets on the market, the Torch is fully waterproof, stretchy and does not sacrifice breathability for visibility thanks to cutting-edge MapREflect Fabric. The neon green side panels are made high performance Elite fabric to offer improved breathability and daytime visibility. Additionally, an integrated venting system offers adjustable cooling with core vents, a back vent and airflow-regulating cuffs.”

The Torch and Elite jackets both feature highly reflective materials through their shells, along four integrated LED’s located on the cuffs that snap into place using grommets, which can provide up to 200 hours of illumination.

In addition, both jackets come with a built-in automatic shut-off, which cuts power after one hour when they’re in flashing mode, and after 30 minutes when on steady – as a means of conserving battery life.

Showers Pass used fully taped seams and weather resistant front zippers, along with storm flaps, on both jackets to protect riders from the elements. Moreover, ventilation is handled by vents found on both sides and the back of the jacket, as well as airflow regulating cuffs.

Inside the jackets, one will find a soft, moisture-wicking collar, along with a detachable hood for those rainy days. There are chest pockets as well for storing mobile devices, that provide proper cable routing and easy access.

Showers Pass calls the material on the outside of the Hi-Vis Torch jacket, MapREflect, which they say is ‘holy grail of reflective fabric’ due to its lightweight, breathable qualities.

By comparison, the Elite jacket provides more ventilation for longer rides, and uses a 3-layer rip-stop material for its outer shell and brushed lining throughout.

The Elite jacket comes in bright neon green with a choice of silver or black MapREflect side panels.

Additionally, as a bonus feature, Showers Pass added maps of 11 international cities to the Elite’s MapREflect fabric, which consists of Portland, New York, Washington D.C., Paris, Barcelona, Amsterdam, London, Newcastle, Berlin, Sydney and Taipei- with no two jackets looking exactly the same as a result of the cut of the fabric.

The Torch sell for $325, and the Elite for $279, with both jackets available in sizes ranging from small to X-large.
