If the current trend of riding shorter crank arms continues, at some point we’ll see top pros like Jonas Vingegaard spinning on soup spoons. And, apparently SRAM feels it’s a trend worthy of capitalizing on as evidenced by the launch of its extremely short RED crank arms.
Indeed, by investing $440, mere mortals can now hope to see their performance peak just like the Dane’s by opting for arms as short as 150mm and 155mm.
Elsewhere, SRAM has added new “Aero disc brake” to its lineup, offering three new hydraulic time trial bar brake lever options for its Red, Force and Rival groupsets, featuring reach adjustable, textured carbon levers for better fit and grip, while its Stealth-a-majig hose connection continues to provide easier installation for internal routing. Moreover, the new levers follow along with SRAM’s Bleeding Edge port, flat-mount calipers and Paceline-series rotors for $310, $250 and 210, respectively.
Additionally, for whatever reason, SRAM has decided to treat its Universal Derailleur Hanger (UDH) to silver hardware, while the AXS battery charger now supports USB-C charging.
