State Bicycle Co. has partnered with HAM Cycles on a special edition, classic road bike that bears the Houston-based bike shop’s name.
“Designed with our friends HAM Cycles hailing from the WORLD FAMOUS Montrose district of Houston. Inspired by the race machines of yesterday, this ride encourages riders to keep it CASUAL! The limited-run features a vintage-style saddle with the option for riders to choose traditional drop-bars,” says State Bicycle Co.
Limited to just 50 bikes, the HAM Edition is based on State Bicycle Co.’s popular 4130 double-butted, chromoly frameset, complete with classic 8-speed downshifting and a Selle Italia Vintage 1980 Turbo Saddle.
However, modern amenities include a 1 1/8″ threadless stem and wide, lightweight wheels that can accommodate tires up 32c, while commuters will rejoice knowing there are provisions for both front and rear racks.
“This stunning machine pays homage to classic road bikes with plenty of modern qualities. Distinct to the 4130 Road is a highly-responsive classic 8-speed down tube shifting. The bike sports a fully CNC machined crank with 44t chainring with an 11-28 cassette, giving a versatile range to any rider in the city, while we paid attention to every detail in our first geared-road bike offering, with special ornamentation on the brake levers, hubs, brake pad holders, saddle, and more,” boasts State Bicycle co.
The HAM Edition sells for $649.00, which can be purchased directly from State Bicycle’s Co.’s website here.
