Strava Adds Best Efforts to Its Ride Function

Strava has announced the addition of Best Efforts to its Ride Function to help cyclists determine their top three cycling performances of all time, mapping critical performance across five categories: distance, cumulative elevation gain, biggest single climbs, time and power.

From there, Strava says the data sets can be synthesized to give greater insight into the performance each cyclist has achieved during his or her time on Strava.

“Based on Strava research, 77% of active cyclists achieved a Best Effort in 2023, and 33% in February this year,”  says Strava.

“Similar to the Best Efforts for Run, the Ride version of the feature can be viewed near the bottom of the athlete’s ‘You’ page on the Strava mobile app (paid subscriptions only).”

Additionally, Best Efforts will give cyclists the ability to view their best power outputs at intervals from 5 seconds to two hours. Moreover, the feature can backtrack through all the activities cyclists have uploaded to Strava to locate their best efforts, while also displaying their top three efforts.

Lastly, cyclists can now open their “View Analysis” page, which will give them a year-over-year progress graph to see how they’re developing.
