Strava Offers New Tour Hub

Back a few months ago, Strava put out a teaser showcasing its upcoming Tour Hub, a new feature that would give fans access to daily activities of the peloton, a breakdown of key segments, uploads from each stage and unique insights to rider experiences in this year’s men’s and women’s Tour de France.

The new race experience in-app is part of a three-year partnership between Strava and Le Tour organizer Amaury Sport Organisation (ASO).

Everyone on Strava gets full access to follow the action of the Tour de France and explore all of the features including official Tour Segments with visualizations and details, as well as Tour related clubs, challenges and a compiled list of competitors.

During the races, Strava notes that its community will have insider access to:

  • Tour Challenges: See if you have what it takes to ride like the peloton, or take on bite-sized bits of what they’re experiencing on your own terms. We have challenges for time, distance and elevation, so you can ride your own Tour.
  • Uploads from the Pros: Dive into your favorite riders’ stats from each stage – conveniently collected into one place for easy browsing.
  • Exclusive Insights: Learn about key segments along the course as the riders are taking them on – we’re shedding light onto data from each day as only Strava can.

“The Strava team is excited about bringing to life the routes, efforts and performances during the Tour de France and Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift with our community of athletes around the world,” said Steve Lloyd, Chief Product and Technology Officer at Strava.

“By providing a platform where cycling fans can experience stage previews, race insights and join challenges, more athletes can experience the joy of cycling’s competition and camaraderie.

“Every effort uploaded from the pros enhances our understanding, appreciation and excitement for these incredible athletes and iconic races.”

How to access:

  • Athletes can follow the Tour from the Strava feed in-app and then will have permanent navigation via a banner in the home feed.
  • Alternatively, visit strava.app.link/Tour-2022 on mobile.

Strava is positioning itself as offering a backstage race pass to the Tour de France and Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift.

This is a free experience for the full community with no subscription required. Available on iOS and Android apps.
