Tacx Launches New Boost Indoor Trainer

Tacx has launched its latest indoor trainer called the Boost, a return to a basic trainer for the Dutch brand that’s renown for its sophisticated “smart” trainers, which features a simple, magnetic brake that’s capable of providing up to 1,050 watts of resistance.

According to Tacx, the Boost features a quiet, concealed resistance unit that can provide up to 10 levels of resistance via a handlebar mounted lever, allowing users to dial in as much, or as little, resistance they want. Moreover, the trainer includes a front wheel riser to ensure a natural riding position, which also doubles up as a carry handle when the trainer is folded up.

Additionally, despite being a basic trainer, users can monitor their performance metrics via an optional speed sensor that works in conjunction with platforms like Zwift, TrainerRoad and Tacx’s own training app.

The Boost trainer sells for $299.99. Customers can also bundle the speed sensor for an additional $29.99, which includes a free 30-day Tacx premium subscription.
