Triumph Enters the EBike Segment with Trekker GT

Triumph has entered the eBike segment with the launch of its new Trekker GT, marking a first for the vaunted British motorcycle brand.

The Trekker GT features a lockable lithium-ion battery that’s integrated into an aluminum frame, a significant departure from the bulky, bolted-on batteries found on most standard to eBikes.

Triumph claims the Shimano E8035 504Wh battery combined with the Japanese component giant’s Steps E6100 250w motor can deliver 60Nm of torque, giving it a range of more than 90 miles on a single charge.

Additionally, a Shimano display allows riders to toggle between four different options and includes functions like speed, distance, trip time, gear, range, and remaining battery power.

The Trekker Gt also features Shimano Deore M6000 brakes with 180mm / 160mm discs and a Deore Shadow 10-speed groupset, as well as a RockShox Paragon fork with 65mm of travel and turnkey damper with adjustable lockout.

Other standout features include fully integrated LED lighting, matte black mudguards and pannier rack, a super-strong 270mm U-lock and cast aluminum Triumph badging. Overall, the bike weighs about 53 pounds (24 kg) in a size medium.

“Our passion for two-wheeled performance and riding fun brings together for the very first time the latest in e-drive bicycle technology alongside Triumph’s world renowned elegant style, comfort, quality and finish. The new Trekker GT is the perfect all-road choice for commuting, fitness and everyday riding fun, enhanced by high specification branded equipment including premium components from Shimano and RockShox, and its high performing Shimano e-drive,” says Triumph.

The Trekker GT starts at $3,750, with availability on these shores yet to be announced.
