While the Tracker eBike is clearly retro looking, reminiscent of an early 1900’s motordrome racer, it features a thoroughly modern electric motor and design.
Hand-built by the California- based, Vintage Electric Bikes, the Tracker features a robust electric motor that’s easily capable of propelling it at speeds of 20 mph, and when placed in “race” mode, it will let riders zoom along at speeds in excess of 35 mph. Moreover, thanks to its large capacity 52V 13.5Ah lithium ion batteries, the Tracker has a range of travel upwards of 35 miles.
The Tracker achieves these impressive performance figures via a rear-hub mounted electric motor that provides 3,000 watts of power, coupled to a lightweight hydro-formed aluminum frame, while braking is handled using Shimano’s Alfine hydraulic disc brake system.
Other notable features include, Phil Wood hubs, Schwalbe Fat Frank tires, an LED headlight and bespoke handgrips and a Brooks leather saddle.
The Tracker sells for $4995, and it comes with a one year warranty, with a battery lifespan estimated to be about 30,000 miles.
While the Tracker definitely isn’t a bargain priced eBike, it does offer distinctive styling and the promise heads will turn wherever you ride.
