Vittoria’s New Terreno Pro Range of Gravel Tires Are a Love Letter to the Environment

Vittoria’s new Tirreno Pro range of gravel tires are a love letter to the environment, boasting a new Eco Race compound that’s made almost entirely from renewable and recycled materials.

How?

By eliminating the use of traditional black carbon compounds, and instead relying on a composition that’s comprised of 92% natural rubber, soybean oil, rice husk and ash silica, Vittoria says the new design not only embraces sustainability, but also bolsters performance by a claimed 19% more grip and 18% more puncture resistance over the Italian brand’s existing Terreno Endurance range.

“This is the future… As a company, we want natural brown tires to become the norm in a few years, while the old-school black ones, with carbon black, start to look outdated,” says Stijn Vriends, chairman & CEO of Vittoria.

“With a 52% lower carbon footprint versus the Gravel Endurance construction, Terreno PRO T10 Hardpack shows that sustainability and speed can ride side by side. Awarded the Gold Award and Green Prize at the 2024 Taipei Cycle Show d&i Awards, the Terreno Pro range represents the new era of cycling,” adds Vriends.

The new Tirreno Pro range is available in sizes ranging from 35c to 45c for $104.00. However, there’s currently no 650b option in the line-up.
