Wilier Pays Tribute to Shimano with Special Edition Unico Filante SLR Frameset

Wilier is paying tribute to Shimano with a special edition version of its Unico Filante SLR frameset, celebrating the centenary of the vaunted Japanese component maker with a unique paint scheme by artist Jun Inoue.

Known for his powerful contemporary work, Inoue blends both the traditional Japanese discipline of Shodo calligraphy with modern-day themes characteristic of Tokyo and Osaka urban landscape.

“To celebrate in the best possible way the one hundred years of Shimano Iron Works, Wilier has created a special Unico frame, entrusting it to the craftsmanship of an artist who fully represents Japan’s centuries-old traditions but who is knowingly projected into the future. For this important anniversary, the new addition to the Wilier Triestina Unico series is by Jun Inoue,” says the Italian brand.

Naturally, the special edition Unico Filante SLR is limited to just 100 framesets, which come with a choice of either a Vision Trimax wheelset for €12,200, or with Wilier’s own SLR42 wheels for €13,100.
