My good friend Trey Henderson, who heads-up Basso Bikes in the USA, decided he’d start my day off by tantalizing me with some images of the latest limited edition Basso-MAAP Diamante frameset. It worked, as my coffee cup runneth-ed over with delight.
This marks the third year that Basso has teamed up with amateur Australian team, by adorning one of its top-tier framesets with the squad’s inimitable livery.
The frameset itself is identical to the standard Diamante, which was won the hearts of enthusiasts world-wide for its mix of classic Italian road bike geometry – contemporaneous with the latest trends in aerodynamics.
The Basso-MAAP Diamante is available in both a caliper and a disc brake version, and features all of the same trappings that makes the standard model great such as full internal cable routing, 1.5 inch tapered steerer, direct-mount brakes for the caliper version or 12mm thru-axles and flat-mount brakes for the disc variant, along with Basso’s brilliant semi-integrated stem, headset and spacer system.
As the phrase limited edition implies, the Basso-MAAP Diamante frameset is an exclusive, so you best lay-down some lira now if you hope to get one.
Magnifico!
