BMC Racing won the opening team time trial event of this year’s 2014 Giro del Trentino today.
The results of today’s victory put BMC’s Daniel Oss into the early leader’s position.
BMC clocked the best time of 14:02 along the flat 13.4 kilometer course from Riva del Garda – Arco, to beat the NetApp-Endura team by 15 seconds, with Team Sky finishing in third at 19 seconds back.
After today’s victory, BMC is hopeful they can move their team leader Cadel Evans further up in the standings following a good result in tomorrow’s hilly stage.
Meanwhile, Team Sky’s line-up today included Bradley Wiggins, however, the former Tour de France champion was only supported by five teammates as compared to a majority of teams that were comprised of eight-man.
The race continues tomorrow with a 165 kilometer stage from Limone sul Garda to San Giacomo di Brentonico, which will finish atop a challenging category 1 climb.
