• A wheel braking temperature of 90°C when braking from 37mph – 173°C less than standard carbon fibre (obviously in standardised conditions).

As one might glean from their title, the new Carbon Aero 50 Clinchers are 50mm deep, and they feature a 24.5mm wide rim section for increased aerodynamics and stability. Airstreeem gives a claimed weight of 1,430g (680g front, 750g rear), along with a maximum rider weight limit of roughly 200lbs/90kg. The hubs are of Airstreeem’s own design, and they utilize Sapim CX-Rays straight-pull spokes throughout. The suggested retail for the wheelset is around $2,400/£1,499.
Airstreeem also offers a tubular version that weighs in quite a bit less at 1,330g (540g (f) and 750g (r)), and they will accommodate a slightly heavier rider at 220lbs/100kg.
In addition, there’s a Carbon Aero Superlight version that features all of the same specifications as it’s regular tubular counterpar, but with even more weight savings at 1.200g (540g (f) and 680g (r)). Same as the clinchers, they’re priced at around $2,400/ £1,499.
As mentioned, not every wheelset is carbon. Airstreeem offers four aluminium clincher models ranging from 20mm to 38mm profiles. The Black Edition 20 is their entry level wheelset at $800/£499. The wheels feature a 20mm-deep rim section, along with Airstreeem’s own hubs and Sapim spokes. Weight is listed at a reasonable 1,420g (630g f, 790g r)
All Airstreeem wheels are hand-assembled in Austria, and they come with a two-year crash replacement service. Availability in the USA is yet to be determined.
