Boardman Bikes Set to Launch New AiR/TTE Model

A couple of weeks ago we gave a sneak preview of Boardman Bikes’ all-new aerodynamic Time Trial and Triathlon frame – called the Elite Series AiR/TTE. Today, the company announced that the new bike will make it’s debut during this weekend’s Hawaii Ironman event.
 
As previously mentioned, the AiR/TTE (the E stands for ‘Evolution’) has been under development for the past three years using using CFD (computational fluid dynamics) technology in the design process, which is from the F1 industry – and never before used in a bicycle application. 
 
"The new AiR/TTE has a visible DNA link to its predecessor – the 2012 Ironman World Championship winning bike,” said Chris Boardman, Australia’s Pete Jacobs having ridden an AiR/TT on his way to victory in Hawaii last year.

“The improved aerodynamics came through new laser body scanning technology and CFD design to produce improvements of over 20%."
