Chris Horner Gets New Contract

Cycling fans will be pleased to know, that Chris Horner has been given a one-year contract by a US domestic team for 2015.

Following the end of this season. Horner’s contract with the Italian team, Lampre-Merida, was not renewed – leaving the American rider to languish without a sponsor.

However, according to Horner’s agent, Baden Cooke, the former Vuelta a Espana winner was given a “one-year deal with an up and coming team”.

Cooke added, “the team and Chris will be making the announcement very soon. It’s imminent.”

Over the last few weeks, Horner has been linked to a number of domestic US teams, including Jelly Belly, UnitedHealthcare, Jamis, Smartstop and Bissel.

At this time, Cooke would not indicate which team Horner would ride for in 2015. However, Jamis, Jelly Belly, UnitedHealthcare and Smartstop – have all previously ruled out signing the American rider.
