Koga Kimera Road Bike Wins Red Dot Design Award

The Koga Kimera road bike was recently chosen for the prestigious Red Dot Design Award in Essen, Germany.  

The Kimera was unveiled at last year’s EuroBike Show, and this lightweight,  full carbon gem (right down to the drop-outs) – did not disappoint.

The internationally renowned design award " red dot award : product design 2014 " is assigned to the new Koga Kimera Road Premium. The 40 members of the Red Dot jury were impressed by the innovative strength of the design of this state-of – the-art racing bike and rewarded it with this prestigious design award. The competition was great : the jury this year received a whopping 4,815 products for review from 53 different countries .
 
The award ceremony will take place on July 7, 2014 as part of the traditional red dot gala in Essen , Germany . The Koga Kimera Road Premium then get a place in the special exhibition in the red dot design museum .

In the design of the new Kimera Koga has highlighted a drastic improvement in aerodynamics and comfort , without compromising on the critically acclaimed stiffness / weight ratio . The result is clearly visible through the slender pipes and brakes that are integrated into the frame and fork for minimal resistance and a remarkably clean design . At the same time retain the curved top tube and chainstay monostay . These thoroughbred racer are recognizable "look and feel "
 
The new Kimera is equipped with internal cable routing , compatible with Shimano Di2 . Dropouts are also made ​​of carbon , thus an optimal connection to the rest of the frame can be assured with a low weight. Moreover, the Kimera with a Press Fit bottom bracket , a tapered head tube and replaceable derailleur hanger . The Kimera Premium is equipped with a lightweight racing saddle with carbon rails and comfortable 27.2mm carbon seatpost with excellent shock absorption . With these changes, the Kimera consolidates its position at the forefront of the international peloton .
 
The new Koga Kimera is from March 2014 available at KOGA dealer in two variants : The Kimera Kimera Road Road Premium and Prestige .
