Happy birthday to Raymond Impanis who was born on October 19, 1925, and died on December 31, 2010.

The Belgian rider is best remembered as a formidable one-day classics rider who won 1954 Paris-Roubaix Classic in front of fellow-Belgians Stan Ockers and Marcel Ryckaert. In addition, Impanis also won the Tour of Flanders Classic in 1954, the Ghent-Wevelgem Classic in 1952 and 1953. He also won the Fleche Wallonne Classic in 1957.

In the Grand Tours, Impanis was 3rd in the 1956 Tour of Spain behind Angelo Conterno of Italy and Jesus Lorono of Spain.
