UCI Announces 2015 WorldTour Teams



The International Cycling Union (UCI) has named the teams that have applied for WorldTour licences for the 2015 season.

The merger of Garmin-Sharp and Cannondale has resulted in 17 teams applying for the 18 WorldTour licences.

Ten teams already have their licence secured for 2015, with the remaining seven seeking approval from the UCI.

Nineteen teams have applied for Professional Contintental Status, with Cult Energy Pro Cycling, Nippo-Vini Fantini and Roompot Orange Cycling Team each applying for the first time.

The applications will now undergo an in-depth evaluation with the process for successful teams to be completed by 3 November.
