With all of the out-sourcing that’s come to dominant the bike industry, it’s nice to see that a brand like Basso, not only continues to make its glorious bikes in-house at their facility in Dueville, Italy, but the brand continues to innovate as well.

And, what better way to celebrate one’s 40th anniversary, than with a new road bike!

Such is the case with Basso’s new Diamante SV, which represents a more slippery version of the Italian brand’s flagship Diamante.

The Diamante SV not only features all of the attributes of its sibling, such as Basso’s unique semi-integrated headtube, fork, stem and spacer design, as well as the company’s propriety elastomer seat mast clamping system, but newly shaped tube profiles to help it further cheat the wind.

According to Basso, the Diamante SV tips the scales at around 820g, which is quite remarkable for an aero frame. And, it’s available as a frameset, or a complete bike, with a range of groupset options.

Magnifico!

WELCOME TO DIAMANTE SV

Born from its roots in a Italian Village called Dueville, from a team of passionate riders and technicians with the dream of engineering the fastest bike.

This is what Mr. Basso and his team were looking for, what they have been thinking day and night for the last two years.

So, what is SV?

SV stands for Super Veloce, the essence of this frame.

Slim lines, diamond shaped down tube, monolithic front end, strait chain stays and 3B clamp system are only some of the features that make its rider smile while sprinting out of corners.

Aero its essence, stiffness and comfort its characteristics, Italian its look!

Designed for the aerodynamic position lovers. Its tube shapes are able to cut through the air like blades. The rear turbulence is almost non-existing.

What can you improve when you are already making a bike that everybody prizes for its lightness, super handling in extreme rides, fantastic downhill performance.

We have improved the air penetration by designing new tube shapes, and reactivity by making a straight blade front fork. We have also applied the new system with double pivot brake fixing. And much more.

Diamante SV introduces the “3B-BASSO” (patented) clamp system. The seat clamping is totally masked and invisible on the frame. Not only nice to look at but also technically innovative.

Getting way ahead of the usual clamp-ring/screw holding the seat post, or the extra bulking knot on the frame to house the seat screw; The 3B-BASSO (pat.) triple point fixing becomes a solid structure between seat-post and seat-tube. This system is slim, invisible and strong. In addition to all of this the extra rubber gusset in connection with the 3B-BASSO (pat.) has an anti vibration function which anyone can appreciate on rough surface roads.
