Boyd Updates Its Jocassee Gravel Wheelset

Boyd has updated its gravel-specific Jocassee wheelset, making it both lighter and wider. But, perhaps more importantly, the wheelset is now offered in 700c, which was previously only available in 650b.

The updated Jocassee boasts a tubeless-ready, hookless carbon rim that features a wider internal rim width of 26mm, along with a shallower 25mm profile.

The result is a rim that tips the scales at an impressive 338g in 650b and 353g in the 700c. Moreover, the wider internal width means the Jocassee can now accommodate tires up to 35mm.

Other features that highlight the Jocassee are Boyd’s own center-lock Quest hubs with 12 x 142 axles and Enduro Abec 5 LLU/LLB bearings, which are available in Shimano Hyperglide and  Microspline, as well as SRAM XDR and Campagnolo standard and N3W free-hub bodies.

The Jocassee wheelset sells for $1750 ( $825 front and $925 rear), which comes with a lifetime warranty against manufacturer’s defects and a lifetime crash replacement program.
