To the cycling adeptus, the Chater-Lea name needs no introduction, as the storied British brand’s legacy of making bespoke bicycle components dates all the way back to 1890.
After a long hiatus, Chater-Lea has reintroduced its classic Grand Tour pedal, so named for the halcyon days when young cyclists took their first bicycle ride as they came of age.
“At last we have more than words to substantiate the revival of Chater-Lea’s Grand Tour pedal. Reaching this milestone—creating something we feel is worthy of the brand’s reputation—required more persistence and patience than we imagined,” says the company.
The updated Grand Tour pedal is hewn from high-corrosion-resistant 316 and hardened 17-4PH stainless steel and comes with a lifetime warranty for the original owner.
Additionally, the pedal also features high-quality chrome steel open bearings with marine-grade grease, capable of marinating peak performance for years.
According to Chater-Lea, the Grand Tour pedal will sell for £250, which will be available in the coming weeks.
Exquisite!
