The boutique Dutch wheel brand Ere Research had spun up its latest range of carbon wheelsets dubbed the Genus II, with rim depths that span 30mm, 45mm and 60mm, as well as a couple of different variants in each model.
“Introducing the revolutionary Genus II aero optimized Classics road wheels, designed with our latest cutting-edge technology to give you the ultimate allround cycling experience, offering some of the lightest and most durable carbon wheels,” boasts Ere Research.
The range includes the Genus II SL30, Genus II SL30-R, Genus II CL45, Genus II CL45-R, Genus II AE65 and Genus II AE65-R, with all wheeslets comprising a hooked rim designed and Ere Research’s new Panama SL hubs that are laced in a 2:1 spoke ratio with 21 spokes per wheel.
However, in cases of the “R” designation, the rims are treated to more premium Sapim Aero Carbon spokes, tipping the scales as little as 1,188 grams for the Genus II SL30-R.
Pricing for the wheelsets start at €1.499,00 for the Genus II SL30, with the range-topping Genus II AE65-R fetching a still very reasonable €1.699,00.
Oh, and for the rock’n rollers out there, Ere Research says its new laser-etched logos draw inspiration from Dutch expatriate Eddy Van Halen’s “Frankenstrat’ guitar.
