KindHuman Launches New Kampionne Frameset

kh_kampionne_b1__1

Kind to humans, yes. But not kind to the competition though, is KindHuman’s latest Kampionne frameset.

If lightweight, exclusive, high-end carbon fiber, aerodynamics and advanced frame design are your schtick, you can rejoice in the fact, that the Kampionne has it all.

Weighing in at a respectable 950g, the new Kampionne features Torayca’s T800 and T700 carbon fiber, laid up in all manner of Kamm-tails and Kamm-foils, to include an asymmetrical rear triangle, that will surely satisfy even the most demanding adherents to the aero-bike craze.

But, what’s perhaps most engaging about the Kampionne, is the unique integrated head tube spacer design, which utilizes a series of inserts to adjust stack height, rather than the traditional use of piling spacers atop the head tube.

This is something we first encountered with Basso’s Diamante frameset, and most recently with MCipollini’s NK1K, as being a very effective approach to frame geometry, while also yielding an extremely solid front-end.

Hear, hear, gravel grinders, perhaps another key feature worth mentioning about the Kampionne, is its capable of accommodating tires up 28mm.

KAMPIONNE

Real World Aero. That’s how we categorize our all-purpose, aerodynamic, performance road machine. While other designers are stuck in a wind tunnel willing to compromise handling and ride quality in an effort to prove how fast their bikes are in front of a giant fan, we designed our Kampionne to be a champion of real world applications.

KindHuman Bicycles had a unique opportunity to establish a team of bicycle manufacturers, composite specialists and Formula One engineers to help us improve on our already proven, best-selling and best-reviewed Kampionne. It was no easy task – but we are excited to share the results of this creative process. Our goals with the new Kampionne model were to reduce weight, improve aerodynamics, increase pedaling efficiency all while offering a wider range of fit – expanding on our Real World Aero approach.

The Kampionne is a true quiver killer, boldly going where few bikes in the aero category have gone before. At 950 grams of incredibly high modulus, unidirectional, precision tuned Torayca T800 and T700 carbon fiber, our Kampionne is assembled in a five-piece monocoque assembly utilizing optimized tube profiles and an asymmetric rear end for increased stiffness. Real World Aero features are smartly thought out on our new machine and include our AeroFit integrated headtube spacer design that allows for a clean, angle of attack at a wider range of fit. Now, no rider has to compromise comfort and handling for aerodynamic performance. Our redesigned KammFoil downtube tapers from an abbreviated airfoil shape to a wider Kamm tail contour that provides better torsional stiffness yet outperforms in a variety of real world wind conditions. Our new Wide Bracing Fork design allows each fork blade and the wheel itself to virtually perform in an aerodynamic vacuum resulting in decreased drag where it matters most – at the front – all while reinforcing the front end of the bike for supreme stability and handling precision. We even rethought our rear stays, combining the benefits of a flat stay for comfort and a bullet shaped leading edge for even further aerodynamics!

Stiffness and aerodynamics combine in a design destined for high wattage efforts and head down drags to the finish line. While stiff and aero, the new Kampionne retains KindHuman’s trademarked handling and ride quality thanks in part to its time-proven sloping, race geometry and Bullet Stays. Well suited for competitive racers and weekend warriors alike – those riders who don’t have the word compromise in their vocabulary. Whether you’re headed uphill, in a sprint or in the breakaway, you need a bike that is up for the task. Our Kampionne is your champion on the road.

The bike of choice for Cycle-Smart, KindHuman / Pactimo, the future KindHuman Pro Cycling Project and champions everywhere!
