Unveiled during this month’s Berlin Bicycle Week (Berliner Fahrradschau), Lenkr showed off its new bespoke wooden handlebars to the delight of discerning urban cyclists.
Using a mix of wood and aluminum, each Lenkr is milled from a solid piece of walnut wood, supported by a high-quality aluminum core and the natural grain makes every piece a unique bike component.
Linker currently offers two models, a Type A and Type B.
TYPE-A
The curved shaped ends are the distinguishing feature of the Type-A. With a diameter of 31.8mm, Type-A fits on any modern bike suspension and brings a timeless look to your fixed-gear, single speed or custom made bike. At just 285 grams, it’s a real lightweight and ensures a unique riding experience.
The wood grain lends a distinct character to your handlebar, which will subtly change over the years of use, making it even more unique.
Finished with a special varnish, the Type-A is robust and suitable for everyday cycling, while UV protection keeps them looking great even when exposed to the sun over longer periods of time.
TYPE-B
With the same obsessive attention to detail that was put into Type-A, the Type-B with a more puristic approach. Type-B sets itself apart through a seamless connection between the wood and the aluminum. With a diameter of 25.4mm, Type-B fits on any classic bike suspension and brings a puristic, classic look to your fixed-gear, single speed or custom made bike. At just 160 grams, it’s a real lightweight and ensures a simple and minimalistic weight approach.
The same special varnish as on Type-A is used and ensures the classic look of a natural grain.
