Life Time Releases Season 2 of “Call of a Life Time” Docuseries

Life Time has released “Call of a Life Time” Season 2. The docuseries is made up of six binge-worthy episodes following the elite women and men of the 2023 Life Time Grand Prix, the premier gravel racing series in North America. Season 2 follows 70 of the world’s best riders around the country, competing in seven iconic races throughout a grueling seven-month season, all vying for a portion of the Series’ $250,000 prize purse. The docuseries features never-before-seen footage and a compelling peek into the lives of the characters at play.

With nearly one million views to date, Season 1 debuted with unprecedented fan interest and acclaim. Season 2 takes viewers even deeper into the lives and personalities of the athletes, featuring intense competition, harrowing physical hurdles, harsh weather conditions, emotional highs and lows, camaraderie, and the extreme pressure endured throughout the 2023 calendar.

“We’re thrilled to present Season 2 of ‘Call of a Life Time,’ offering a unique look into the lives of athletes in the 2023 Life Time Grand Prix presented by Mazda. In going well beyond their professional cycling prowess to include additional aspects of their lives, we hope to inspire yet another wave of cycling fans in celebration of these heroes competing here in the United States,” said Michelle Duffy, Life Time Senior Director of Event Marketing.

“At Life Time, we help people live healthier, happier lives. Beyond the entertainment it delivers, we hope this series serves as inspiration for viewers to take on their next big goal,” said Duffy. “Cold Collaborative, alongside our dedicated Life Time team, has poured their hearts into this series and we can’t wait for viewers to indulge. Our immense gratitude extends to the Life Time Grand Prix athletes who believed in us and generously dedicated substantial time to this effort. Without them, our vision for “Call of a Life Time” Season 2 would not have been realized.”

Season 2’s content has been elevated to include footage shot from side-by-side vehicles, e-bikes, motos, drones, and two helicopters, resulting in truly beautiful, entertaining and dramatic coverage equally spanning both the men’s and women’s fields.

Some of the most intense moments include: Sofia Gomez Villafane’s determination to beat her second-place finish from the year before and achieving a solo win at the Sea Otter Fuego XL, along with the sheer grit and will of racers battling through the intolerably muddy and rainy conditions at UNBOUND Gravel. It also showcases Keegan Swenson’s record-setting win at the Leadville Trail 100 MTB, beating the previous record by over 15 minutes and riding completely solo for the entire second half of the race. Other storylines include a contingent of athletes who traveled from Europe and Australia to compete in the world’s most prestigious off-road racing series, raising the level of competition further than ever before.

Season 2 episodes highlight the “big four” events, including Sea Otter Fuego XL, UNBOUND Gravel, Leadville Trail 100 MTB, and Big Sugar Gravel. Sea Otter Fuego XL and Big Sugar Gravel episodes showcase both the men’s and women’s races. New for this Season are dedicated episodes for the men and women for UNBOUND Gravel and the Leadville Trail 100 MTB, providing viewers even more insight into these races and what it takes to be a contender. The Series was filmed by the award-winning production company, Cold Collaborative, and conceptualized by creative director and company founder, Shannon Vandivier.

Call of a Life Time Season 2 has proven that off-road racing in North America is forever changed. A new breed of rider has been born and they’re only getting faster. While shooting Season 2 we saw some returning athletes come into the series with a chip on their shoulder hungry for victory, while others were calm, collected, and ready to build on what they learned during the previous season,” said Vandivier. “We also saw many new riders that proved to be the dark horses of the series, some of the youngest off-road riders, and a new influx of international riders joined the circuit, each wanting to race against the best. Call of A Lifetime Season 2 is a deeper look into the minds, the emotions, and the raw power of the athletes driving this new era of North American Racing.”
