Litespeed Revamps Ultimate G2 Gravel Bike

Battled tested during this year’s Unbound Gravel and Belgian Waffle Ride events, Litespeed has lifted the curtains on the revamped version of its Ultimate G2 gravel bike, boasting a ground-up design that offers “more gears, more tire, more comfort, more acceleration and more speed”.

“The Ultimate has always stood as our premier race bike. Now, it’s better than ever. With a wholly updated geometry and a collective of modern updates, the Ultimate Gravel becomes much more versatile, handles with improved confidence, and gets immensely faster, more efficient, and more functional. Experience the most-advanced titanium gravel performance machine: the Ultimate G2. The Ultimate G2 is a fresh reflection of what riders demand on course—and off. Confident, precise geometry, with the capacity to excel at speed in race action. So too was weekend session capability, with tons of tire clearance for more fun in all conditions. Those tenets inspired us to develop the Ultimate G2 into the most progressive titanium gravel race bike available today,” says Litespeed.

Relying on the same 3AL / 2.5V cold-worked titanium, the Ultimate G2 is treated to custom-formed tubesets this time around, most notably interlocking, dropped seatstays that claim to enhance comfort, stiffness and stability, while a wider stance provides more clearance for bigger tires.

Elsewhere, the driveside chainstay is fitted with a new CNC-machined titanium yoke for an improved “chain-line” with both 1x and 2x drivetrains, along with a butted head tube and bottom bracket for additional weight savings.

The Ultimate G2 comes standard with three bottle mount locations. But, customers can opt for additional top tube mounts for a bento box or to fit a rear rack, or both. Customers can also upgrade their frames from the stock PF30 bottom bracket to a T47.

Litespeed has also upped the style quotient, offering multiple finish options that include different graphic colors and etched or anodized finishes.

Customization is further extended with the choice of a matching Cane Creek headset, Lizard Skins bar tape and vinyl logos.

Tipping the scales at 1,430 grams in a size medium, the Ultimate G2 won’t win any plaudits from the weight weenies crowd, with a stand-alone framesets and complete bikes starting at $3,095 and $4,950, respectively.
