Mavic Launches New Cosmic Pro Carbon Disc Wheelset

Mavic has put full carbon, disc brake compatible wheels within the reach of most enthusiasts, with its new Cosmic Pro Carbon Disc wheelset.

The new Cosmic Pro Carbon uses Mavic’s popular 45mm profile rim, along with both a wider external and internal widths (25mm x 17mm), allowing cyclists to use a greater range of tire options to across an array of diverse riding conditions.

Think gravel grinding.

According to Mavic, the new wheelset is, “convertible to 12 or 15mm front and 12 x 142 or QR rear, and are offered in either 6 bolt or Centerlock rotor compatibility, as well as the ability to work with XD free hubs.”

The Cosmic Pro Carbon is sold as a wheel and tire set, featuring Mavic’s Yksion Pro tires (770X25), and have a claimed weight of 1770g.

At $1,399 for the set-up, the Cosmic Pro carbon is sure to be a big hit for the French brand, especially given the steady rise the “off-road/endurance” segment has seen.
