New Conversion Kit from Ratio Technology Allows SRAM Shifters to Work with Campagnolo Ekar Groupset

A new conversion kit from Ratio Technology allows SRAM 10 and 11-speed mechanical shifters to work with Campagnolo’s 13-speed Ekar groupset thanks to a new ratchet and a pair of 12-tooth, 13-speed specific pulley wheels.

But, why would anyone want to combine the two drivetrains?

According to Ratio Technology, “the range and spacing of 1×13 hit a sweet spot for general gravel riding, but adds “there are limitations to Ekar”, citing the groupset’s “restrictive 38-tooth minimum chainring size, proprietary crankset and bottom bracket, lack of a power meter, and limited crank length options” as its primary drawbacks.

For instance, the company says its 5-bolt, 110 BCD pattern Ratio Ring gets around some of these issues by opening up options to use a wide number of other cranksets, allowing owners to upgrade their existing parts or piece together a groupset that is compatible with modern wide-range cassettes for a lower price than a whole new groupset.

Of course, one has to have his or her own Ekar cassette, chain, a 13-speed compatible chainring and compatible cranks.

The Ratio Technology 1x13C kit will work with any of SRAM’s mechanical 11-speed shifters from its Force 1, Rival 1 or Apex 1 groupsets, or by using a separate cable spool, can convert 10-speed SRAM shifters as well. Moreover, the kit will work with 11-speed SRAM MTB rear derailleurs when used in conjunction with a separate cable fin.

The kit sells for $104.22, which can be purchased directly from Ratio Technology here
