Oakley Launches Special Edition Tour de France Sunglass Collection

To celebrate this year’s Tour de France, Oakley has launched special edition versions of its Sutro, Jawbreaker, Radar EV Path and Frogkskin Lite sunglasses, complete with a “Matte Poseidon” colorway with white and red detailing that reflects the colors of the French flag.

All models feature Oakley’s Prizm lens technology, with the Jawbreaker and Sutro glasses using the Prizm Road Black lenses that are suitable for bright light conditions, while the Radar EV Path and the casual Frogskins Lite sunglasses rely on the Prizm Road lens for medium light exposure.

Additionally, the sunglasses have the Tour de France logo etched in the bottom left corner of the lens, along with the Oakley logo etched across the top on all but the Frogskins Lite.

The Radar EV Path sunglasses are an updated version of Oakley’s classic Radar glasses. The EV stands for “extended view”, which is larger than its predecessor.

In the case of the Jawbreaker, the lens extends higher up so the frame doesn’t obstruct the rider’s view, which is interchangeable thanks to Oakley’s Switchlock design.

The Sutro glasses have become increasingly popular amongst the pro peloton, with Egan Bernal donning them during his victories in the 2019 Tour de France and this year’s Giro d’Italia.

For the first time in years, Oakley is offering a casual/lifestyle version of its Frogskins Lite, but with the same lens technology as the race inspired model.

The special Tour de France edition Radar EV Path, Jawbreaker, Sutro and Frogskins Lite sell for $205, $226, $173 and $152, respectively.
