Overade Launches New LIFE Smart Helmet

While there are plenty of innovative lids on the market that are aimed squarely at the urban cycling segment, Overade’s latest LIFE smart helmet takes safety to a higher level thanks to its integrated turn signals that can be activated via a wireless, handlebar mounted remote, as well as flashing LED lights galore.

The helmet also includes Overade’s OxiBrake wireless pressure sensor, which when applied to one of the brakes, triggers the integrated LED lights to temporarily illuminate brighter when the rider is braking. Moreover, whereas other manufacturers rely on an accelerometer to activate their helmet’s brake light, Overade claims that such systems may not be triggered by soft braking, or their helmets can get “confused” by head movements, plus if a built-in timer is used, the lights can shut off before the rider has come to a complete stop.

Additionally, riders can also opt to manually activate the helmet’s headlight strip to flash at its brightest setting during critical situations.

Elsewhere, the LIFE features vegan leather straps with a quick-release magnetic buckle and an optional visor for eye protection.

Overade has undertaken a crowd-funding campaign, offering early-backers a special price of $99.00 for the one-size fits all LIFE helmet.
