Santini continues to celebrate this year’s Tour de France with the launch of its winter Maillot Jaune collection, comprising five pieces and two accessories that are designed to combat the chill.
“For the coming autumn and winter, new pieces designed to stylishly and elegantly tackle the cold are being added to the capsule collection – all, of course, boasting signature Santini quality. Design-wise, the colors for the ‘Maillot Jaune’ are ultramarine blue, black and yellow, creating an effortlessly sleek, minimalist look,” says Santini.
At the center of the collection is the Allez Vega Xtreme jacket, which features Polartec Windbloc material throughout the main portion of the garment, while a collar lined with Polartec’s Alpha ensures that the rider’s neck remains warm at all times.
The jacket is further punctuated by raw cut sleeves with a fleece lining that’s covered by waterproof PU material at the wrists.
The collection also includes the thermal fleece reinforced Allez bib-tights, with saddle comfort courtesy of Santini’s C3 chamois pad.
For days when the mercury isn’t plummeting, there’s the Allez long sleeve jersey that’s made from Hotwind thermal fleece, which is designed to keep the rider’s body temperature constant, while the collection is further rounded-out by Allez overshoes and gloves to keep the extremities warm.
Lastly, the collection features two additional pieces, the Le Maillot Jaune sweatshirt and wool sweater, which are both made from Polartec material as well.
Like the Allez jacket, the sweatshirt also relies on Polartec Windbloc to provide protection from the wind and the wet, while guaranteeing optimal breathability and thermal balance.
For the sweater, the piece is treated to Polartec’s lightly compressive Power Wool bi-component knit fabric, which also combines both natural wool and synthetic fibers for optimal warmth and wicking properties.
The Maillot Jaune winter collection is available from www.santinicycling.com, as well as select stores worldwide.
