SCIU Launches New Juniper Gravel Bike

In German, gravel is spelled juniper, as in SCIU’S new gravel bike called the Juniper.

SCIU is a new boutique brand that’s based in Hamburg, specializing in off-road carbon bikes that involve not only a state-of-the-art fabrication process, but also targets sustainability with a program that will allow customers to recycle/up-cycle their frames in the future.

But for now, the Juniper is SCIU’s response to the every-burgeoning gravel segment, ticking all of the boxes in terms of diverse wheel and tire options that are angled around a wide range of sizes and geometries in order to accommodate any off-road pursuit.

The Juniper is offered in two models, the Pure, which comes with SCIU’s standard frame and fork, and the Walnut, which features the brand’s carbon seatpost and stem, along with a special headset that’s designed to integrate both brake hoses and shifter cables.

Complete bikes start at €4,199, which come equipped with a SRAM Force 1 groupset, a Syntace aluminum wheelset shod with WTB Riddler tires and a Spank Flare Vibrocore handlebar.

Customers can also opt for just a frameset for €1,999.
