Shimano unveiled a host of new products this week, three of which comprise a range of affordable new wheelsets that capitalize on the ever-growing gravel bike segment.
Indeed, the first of the new Shimano wheelsets is the tubeless WH-RS370-TL, which feature a wider rim width that can accommodate tires ranging from 28-38mm.
Designed for disc brakes, they feature 12mm E-Thru Axles and Centerlock rotors, which are compatible with both 10 and 11 speed cassettes that retail for $255.00.
Next are Shimano’s WH-RS300 and WH-RS100 clincher wheelsets, which represent two of the most affordable road wheelsets from the Japanese component giant to date.
The new WH-RS300-CL clincher wheels feature fewer spokes (16H/20H) for increased aerodynamics, while the straight spoke construction provides higher torsional rigidity, delivering quick and responsive acceleration. In addition, a wider profile rim has also been added to the wheelset, which can accommodate larger tires as well, with a retail price of $230.00.
Lastly, is Shimano’s most affordable 11 speed wheelset, the WH-RS100-CL.
Like its more expensive siblings, it also offers a wider profile rim designed for more aggressive tire sizes, which sells for a staggeringly cheap $135.00.
According to Shimano, the wheelsets will become available starting in June.
