SILCA will present a special award at this year’s North American Handmade Bicycle Show (NAHBS) in Hartford, Connecticut next month.
The award will recognized the framebuilder who best incorporates a SILCA product into his or her bike design.
The SILCA brand needs no introduction, as the venerable Italian brand (now American) has been turning out bike pumps and various tools of supreme quality since the dawn of cycling.
To enter the contest, framebuilders must feature a SILCA product in their “build”, which now comprises the SuperPista Ultimate Floor Pump, Impero Ultimate Frame Pump, TATTICO Bluetooth Mini-Pump and more recently the company’s Seat Roll.
Some of the criteria SILCA will base its award on will be the degree of creativity that went into the bike’s paint scheme, the number of SILCA products incorporated into the “build”, as well as the overall quality and execution of the full “build”.
The winner of the first annual #CustomSILCA Award will receive 5 custom engraved HX-ONE Home Essential Kits from SILCA.
NAHBS takes place from February 16 to the 18 at the Connecticut Convention Center, and will feature the work of the top framebuilders from around the world.
