What was once the weapon of choice for triathletes and time trail specialists, over-sized pulley systems have increasingly gained favor with cyclists of all denominations, including disciples of the gravel grinder and adventure/road-plus segments.
As a result, SLF Motion has heeded their call with the launch of its new Hyper 1X over-sized pulley.
The Hyper 1X comprises aerospace-grade carbon cage plates and 7075 CNC aluminum pulleys, complete with coated hybrid ceramic bearings for smooth operation and long-lasting durability.
In addition to standard sizes, SLF Motion also offers mid-size versions, which can accommodate anything from a 12-speed SRAM Eagle system on a mountain bike, to a SRAM Force 11-speed drivetrain on a gravel bike set-up.
It’s also conceivable that the Hyper 1X system could be used with a triathlon or time trial specific bike in conjunction with a 1x drivetrain from Shimano.
However, above and beyond compatibility requirements, SLF Motion was keen to take ground clearance into consideration as well, ensuring that its Midsize Hyper 1X System provides the same clearance as a stock “long cage” in a 12/12 configuration. Moreover, that the SRAM Eagle specific version retains the same ground clearance dimensions as the stock 12/14 cage.
