Yamaha Launches New “Wabash” Gravel Electric Bicycle

Yamaha has launched a new electric bicycle called the Wabash that not only capitalizes on the growing eBike segment, but caters to the ever-popular gravel grinder discipline as well.

According to Yamaha, the Wabash is fully designed, developed and manufactured in-house, which features the company’s 500w PW Series SE drive system that includes four power levels that are capable of providing power-assistance of speeds up to 20 mph.

Additionally, the Wabash is fitted with Yamaha’s exclusive high-speed sensor that’s designed into the rear hub, along with their “zero cadence” assist feature that can detect pedaling movement and activate the electric drive system accordingly.

Aside from the electric drive-system, the aluminum frame Wabash is equipped with a SRAM Rival 1×11 groupset, 11-42 cassette, hydraulic disc brakes with 12mm thru-axles, 33mm Maxxis CX tires, internal cable routing throughout and provisions for a dropper seatpost.

The price of the Wabash is $3,499, which is available in just one paint-scheme that Yamaha has dubbed Latte.

You can find out more about the Wabash by visiting Yamaha’s website here.
