Cycling the Col du Sanetsch in Switzerland

from The Col Collective

It’s our first trip to Switzerland, so we thought we’d explore one of the country’s best kept secrets, the 2,253 meter high Col du Sanetsch in Valais.

I’ve always been intrigued by this climb but with relatively little information available on it we’re very pleased to be joined by local expert Alain Rumpf from Grand Tours Project on a 33 kilometer journey from Sion to the summit and beyond!

  • Start: Sion
  • Length: 33km
  • Summit: 2,253m
  • Elevation gain: 1,745m
  • Average gradient: 6%
  • Max gradient: 16%
