ENVE’s M Series Wheelsets Now Available with Industry Nine’s Latest Hydra Hub

ENVE has announced a new partnership with Industry Nine to create an additional American hub pairing for its M Series wheelsets.

“With the addition of Industry Nine, we have discontinued all DT Swiss wheel builds, and will only offer M Series wheelsets built from the factory on Chris King and Industry Nine hubs”, says ENVE.

According to ENVE, its decision to partner with Industry Nine was four-fold:

  • Support US Manufacturing
  • Lower supply chain risk
  • Reduce MSRP pricing of M Series wheelsets through a strategic partnership
  • Provide riders who prefer the feel of super high-engagement hubs with a reliable M Series pairing

M Series wheelsets will be available with Industry Nine’s latest Hydra hub model, which features an impressive 690 points of engagement.

As a result, ENVE says its strategic partnership with Industry Nine Hydra hub has created a new price point for its base M Series, offering a new MSRP of $2550.

“Our ability to lower MSRP while at the same time delivering more performance is a result of Industry Nine’s appreciation for ENVE rim technologies and a willingness to partner with a fellow US manufacturer. At the same time, we are eliminating costs associated with importing hubs which have long lead times, and import duties”, adds ENVE.

ENVE says its M Series wheelsets paired with the I9 Hydra hub will be available starting this week.

THE NEW PHASE OF INDUSTRY NINE is the culmination of innumerable miles on the bike and hours in the shop. An evolution from previous drive systems, our new HYDRA drive is a project over two and a half years in the making.

Hydra rewrites the rules with a monstrous leap to 690 points of engagement, or .52° between each engagement. The new Hydra drive system raises the bar on hub technology using an independently-phased six pawl, 115 tooth drive ring.

The innovative new design utilizes a continually phased system, creating a procession of engagement points between pawl and drive ring. The design utilizes the inherent flex of the axle to accomplish positive second, third or fourth pawl contact. Hydra also tempers uncontrolled axle and bearing movements conventional designs can’t mechanically limit, thus improving bearing life and decrease sinresistance.

Hydra offers consistent, reliable engagement without overloaded bearings, axles or hub shells. Hydra evolves the performance of our 2019 mountain and fatbike range in both Classic hubs and premium System wheelsets including our steel spoke S-Series.

As always, riders can find their perfect adaptations with a universe of fitment, freehub bodies, hub and spoke colors, wheel models and sizes.
