Lightweight unveiled the latest incarnation of its URGESTALT frameset during last week’s annual Interbike Show.
According to Lightweight, the updated URGESTALT was design with comfort in mind, which now features a more compliant 27.2 round seatpost, along with a traditional seat clamp, as compared to the previous oval post that comprised a somewhat quirky internal clamp.
In addition, Lightweight also redesigned the URGESTALT’s fork, this time using a revised carbon lay-up process, which resulted in improved compliance as well.
Lightweight claims they were able to lighten up the disc brake version of the URGESTALT as well, bringing the weight down to an impressive 795g, which is within 10g of its caliper brake sibling.
What hasn’t come down is the price however, which will still set you back quite a lot of deutsche marks. 🙂

THE NEXT GENERATION ANSWERS ALL NEEDS.
The next generation is raring to go. Lightweight URGESTALT is way more than
just a revamp as the engineers in Friedrichshafen had to go right back to the
origins in order to top its predecessor`s already excellent performance values.
The new frame may look familiar from the outside, but what has happened inside is
tantamount to revolution. Thanks to a radical redesign of the layer structure,
efficiency levels have attained staggering new heights.
Not only does this URGESTALT offer optimized power transmission, highest
directional stability and maximum stiffness, the new design focuses on
improving riding comfort and safety. When combined with Lightweight wheels
URGESTALT unleashes its full performance potential and transfers each Watt
of energy exactly where it wants to go: forwards down the road.
Lightweight URGESTALT is the ultimate link between rider and the road and
is ready and waiting to be ridden.
