New CeramicSpeed App Links to Strava to Keep track of Maintenance Intervals

Best known for its low-friction components and OSPW system, CeramicSpeed has launched a new app that links to Strava, allowing cyclists to keep track of chain and cassette wear by collecting ride data (i.e. miles ridden). The app also helps check the alignment of handlebars, while more functionality is promised in the future such as taking riding and weather conditions into account when assessing component wear.

Additionally, in the case of multiple bikes, the app can keep separate records for each, provided the specific bike has been logged for each ride on Strava.

As mentioned, CeramicSpeed is also looking to incorporate weather data as well, so that its recommended maintenance routine can take into account the differences in riding conditions and seasonal weather. Think summer versus winter weather conditions, or indoor versus outdoor riding.

Regarding the alignment function, it works by analyzing an image of the handlebars and front wheel, and calculating how far out of alignment they are in degrees. From there, cyclists can then fine-tune their handlebar position by simply loosening the stem bolts and realigning things accordingly.

The CeramicSpeed app is available to download for iPhone and Android phone users.
